Sauna and Plunge pool

Fun on its own or as part of the other massage therapies.  Bring a bottle of wine and enjoy a Private Sauna with your Partner.

The therapeutic health benefits of dry heat saunas are well known to the Finns. Saunas relieve tension and stress, stimulate blood circulation and rejuvenate the skin through perspiration. A sauna is considered ‘wet’ when water is poured over the hot volcanic rocks on top of the heater, producing steam. A ‘dry’ sauna is operated without ladling water onto the rocks.

You may prefer a dry sauna to a wet steam room, not only because of the conditions, but because when you compare the benefits to those of a wet sauna. A dry heat provides more advantages. In a dry heat sauna the heat is much more tolerable, but the effect on your body is more direct so you are getting better results. Sweating is inevitable in a sauna. The temperature heats up and your body responds by activating the cooling mechanism in your body—sweat. You can experience the health benefits of saunas whether you use the dry or wet version. In essence, the health benefits that you experience are accelerated with dryness. You can expect your heart to beat faster when the heat is dry. The acceleration of body functions that you experience in dryness provides significant health benefits.
