Client’s Testimonials

In today's world there are so many times that we are subjected to marketing messages, how can we determine what is true and accurate reflection of what is being claimed.  The way we think best is to have client testimonials.

The following testimonials, are ALL REAL,  we have the evidence, some are letters, some have been telephone messages, and most have been provided via this  web site.  They are all from our clients or therapists, or other professionals in their field.

As testimonials help us all to make the correct decision we encourage everyone of you  to provide your testimonials to help the future people who need help in making the decision to try TMRT as the solution to their soft tissue aliments. Thank-you in advance. (No modifications have been made, therefore spelling and grammar are original).

Ailment + General injuries from being an International 3 Day Event rider (equestrian).

Quote from William Fox-Pitt:

"As an International 3-Day Event rider and British Olympic Champion  (Horse Riding) my body is regularly pushed to the limits.  The physical demands of such a sport cause inevitable strains, aches and pains.  I have been treated by Jenny Hummel on a regular basis over the last three years and her sports physiotherapy has not only kept me on the road but has helped me maximise my performance.  She now has a fantastic studio in Shillingstone where she gives treatments in a relaxing and incredibly comfortable environment.   In my opinion she definitely has a gift and I would recommend her to anybody, either with an injury or just in need of general maintenance."  William Fox-Pitt, Dorset 2011

Ailment: sciatic nerve

Jenny Hummel gave me my life back, literally.

A strong and profound statement of the truth with no exaggeration at all.

In July 2010 I trapped my sciatic nerve and was in terrible pain every minute of every day except when lying on my right side at night - thank goodness I had this respite.  However my partner and I run a busy Bed & Breakfast business.....this had to go on and I had to do my part - I was not able to do so many things and spent most early mornings sitting on the end of our bed crying my eyes out with pain, exhaustion, frustration and anger whilst trying to get dressed fast enough to help serve the breakfast to our guests.  I would lurch from one work top in the kitchen to another grabbing hold to enable myself to carry out what seemed then to be the most impossible of tasks, fill a kettle, cut the bread, get milk out of the fridge, fill/empty a dishwasher....make a bed - this had to be done on hands a knees when I could get Simon to let me do it at all.

(My joy is walking my dogs, I did not walk them all summer - how my partner put up with my situation and resultant state of mind is testament to the fact that he probably does love me!!!)

I went to the doctor immediately it happened and they gave me pain killers and it helped a bit and I was on the mend.  Then when I thought it was all better I bent over to puff up a pillow on a bed and wham - the nerve was trapped again, only this time much worse.  Back to the doctor - 7 visits in 14 days, some on consecutive days and with different doctors.  More pain killers, stronger and stronger and then a cocktail of pain killers, I was offered Morphine......side effects of some of these were vomiting and chronic constipation....I was getting no help with curing the problem at all.     I went to see an Emmett practitioner, no relief, I went to see a Physio, no relief, then a friend gave me Jenny's card as his friend said she was "good with backs" .  To be honest at this stage I would have gone to see a witch doctor in remotest India. And by then we were in November.

Jenny saw me pretty quickly and I arrived at her practice rooms and cried all over her!  She then put me on the treatment table and started the treatment - one hour later I could stand up straight for the first time in months.  Several treatments later I was pretty much back to normal - I could make beds and clean in the B&B, I could walk my beloved dogs and I could be my normal self and spend time with my friends without being a "back bore" and return some of the kindness that I had had from my partner. Jenny had given me my life back! Yippee!

Aliment : Headaches and other aches and pains

Jenny was recommended to me over four years ago by a couple of her patients because I'd spent years suffering from headaches, both hormonal and tension related. I had tried all sorts of methods to reduce the frequency and severity of the headaches, including various types of pain killers, Chinese herbal remedies and physiotherapy, none of which were effective.  However, within weeks of starting having treatments with Jenny, my headaches were less painful and less frequent.  It is now quite rare for me to get a headache which is a significant improvement of having at least a couple every week. Over the years, Jenny's treatments have also eased various aches and pains, particularly in my lower back and injured shoulder.  Jenny is a true professional who is truly deserving of her fantastic reputation and I highly recommend the treatments she provides.  Book now…you won't' be disappointed!

Ailment = neck/backache and general stress after having a baby

I was recommended Heather by 3-4 people including my mother who had all said she helped them with their Ailments.

Being a qualified massage therapist myself I was interested to see what Heather could do to help me. I went to Heather to see if she could sort my extremely achy/tight neck and back which was due to stress 2 weeks after having a baby. The massage was amazing and very professional, I felt in very good hands and that Heather knew exactly how to help me. The technique she used mixing the hot stones and stretching etc...felt amazing and left me feeling like a new person. I would definitely recommend Heather to anyone who has muscular problems or just for general relaxation. Definitely not just your average massage! Thank you. I enjoyed it so much I am even considering training to do the TMRT training .

Ailment = Bad Back.

I had suffered for 2 years with back spasms with shooting pains as a result of playing hockey for 20 years. and I thought I must get this sorted out and I had numerous visits to an osteopath. After several visits and having spent a LOT of money, I was not really getting any improvement. I saw Heather’s massage therapy centre on my way to work, and I thought nothing ventured nothing gained, I called and made an appointment, and after only two sessions I was pain free and I have not had any problems since. I thoroughly  recommend Heather and the TMRT technique. Thanks Heather. Rich, Gillingham Dorset 2011.

Ailment = Bad Back.

Thank you so much for all your help and advice so far in fixing my back and body. I have just tried the tennis ball technique, “TBT” a very specialist sounding term!!,  it’s fabulous and it hits exactly the right place.  I never imagined that two dressing gown cords and a tennis ball would help fix my back issues.  I will work hard on my exercises and look forward to seeing you on the 19th keep up the great work and many thanks Elizabeth, Dorset, 2011

Ailment= Born with Dislocated Hips, numerous surgeries and bone reconstruction.

I was born with dislocated hips, lots of surgeries  (40 +!)  did not learn to walk until six years old, specific repairs using rib to add to hip socket to hold the hip joint together. Lived  out a fairly normal life, full time employment, then had some problems later in life, I had some help with a kinesiologist, diets helped  but he then moved away.

I went down hill over a period of 18 months, (getting older now in my 70s) I then needed some help. I sought out Heather and with much caution I booked a session, (at this point I was really bad,  at about 20% functioning)  My intention was just to talk with Heather, as I was very concerned about damage to my hips, I needn't have worried myself. My first session went well, and Heather started my treatment,  the day after I was feeling in a bad way, this is normal and as predicted by Heather, the next day, I was almost pain free, I felt great.  I made sure I did the exercises, they really work, I  then continued another  6 sessions. I know I am somewhat a more tricky case, I am at about 60%-70% functioning now and the extra sessions are the see how far we can go.

Heather is not only great therapist, knowledgeable and caring, she is a warm and kind person too.

I will be singing Heather’s praises and recommending her to everyone I meet,

big thanks Wendy, Dorset, 2011

Ailment= Severely Damaged Tendons

Hi my name is Phil.  I had an accident three years ago February 2008 resulting in having my index finger pulled off and pulling the ligaments out of my shoulder.

I had three operations in the space of 24 hours to try to rebuild my finger. This was successful, leaving me with half of a finger, but afterwards I was in constant pain with my shoulder, and not being able to lift my arm.  I couldn't even lift it up half way also the pain in my arm was constant and my arm would lay heavy and feel like it had  t gone to sleep.  I had a constant headache and felt drowsy all the time and all down one side of my leg I had a constant pain also if that was not enough my body was covered in a rash.

After seeing numerous doctors and specialists over a period of two and half years.  With all my symptoms, nobody could help me nobody could seem to get to the bottom of it and get rid of all my pain and discomfort and as far as for the rash I had numerous solutions creams and tablets.  Nothing worked! I always hoped that one day someone might have the answer and make me pain-free again.

That is when a friend of mine told me about to place in  Gillingham Dorset called Bystillwaters and a lady called Heather Reed that specialised in Thermal Muscle Rehabilitation Therapy. I checked out the Bystillwaters web site and it looked like she should be able to help me.  So I made an appointment

After the first session I could not believe it.  My constant headache had gone and my pain had dramatically reduced in my arm and shoulder.  I had two more sessions it went very well, I could lift my arm up fully again and I was pain-free and as for the rash,  it had almost gone  Heather thought that it might have been caused by the anaesthetic, or possibly the body's reaction to long-term pain.  I cannot believe that after seeing all those doctors and specialists that they could not find the cause so thanks to Heather,  I am pain-free, almost rash free.  I feel that it's a miracle.  Just as a precaution, because I do not want to have all that pain again, I will continue to see Heather, but realistically, I expect I don't really need to. A big thanks to Heather.   2011 Phil
